Cut chicken into 2-inch pieces.

Mix shoyu, water, sugar, salt, garlic and ginger together (always remember that shoyu sauce is very salty).

Marinate chicken for at least 4 hours or overnight.

Roll chicken in flour and fry in hot oil, then put in oven for doneness for about 1/2 hour.

Serve either cold or hot.
