Baptist Pot Roast
Baptist Pot Roast is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 to 4 lb. sirloin tip or rump roast, 8 medium potatoes, peeled and quartered, 8 carrots, scraped and cut in halves, 1/2 pkg. dry onion soup mix and salt and pepper to taste, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Quickly brown roast in a skillet.
Place roast in a large roaster pan with potatoes and carrots.
Cover meat with soup mix. Season meat, potatoes and carrots with salt, pepper and a dash of Worcestershire sauce.
Cover with 1 1/2 cups of water.
Cover pan tightly and bake at 275° to 300° for 3 hours.
Roast should be cooked about 1/2 hour for each pound, but the dinner won't be ruined if the pastor's sermon gets a little long.
So forget about your dinner and concentrate on what he says.
