Banana Split Cake

Combine sugar, eggs and butter.
Beat with mixer for full 10 minutes.
This is very important.
Add pineapple and stir. Spread of mixture over crust.
Spread to 1/2-inch from side of pan.
Slice bananas.
Place in a single layer over mixture. Cover with remaining mixture.
Spread 1 large container whipped topping on top, covering edges of previous mixture.
Put chopped cherries and pecans on top.
Refrigerate for 6 hours before serving.
