Cream shortening and sugar.
Combine dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternately with beaten egg yolks and buttermilk mixture.
Add vanilla, mashed bananas and pecans.
Fold in beaten egg whites.
Bake in large greased tube pan at 325Β° for about 1 1/2 hours.
Cool before taking from baking pan.
