Baked Tomatoes
Baked Tomatoes is an easy dinner. Made with 5 ripe tomatoes, thickly sliced, 1 c. grated sharp cheese (cheddar or swiss), 1/2 c. bread crumbs, salt and pepper to taste and 2 tsp. fresh chopped basil or tarragon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Preheat oven to 375Β°.
Arrange tomato slices in large shallow baking dish.
Top evenly with cheese and bread crumbs.
Season with salt and pepper to taste and sprinkle the herbs over all. Bake uncovered for about 1/2 hour or until cheese melts and everything is bubbly and delicious smelling.
