Baked Beans
Baked Beans is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 lb. cal pea beans, 1/2 tsp. soda, 1/2 c. white sugar, 2 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 tsp. ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Soak beans overnight; drain in morning.
Cover with water; parboil gently for 45 minutes.
Use the soda as beans come to boil, remove foam.
Put all other ingredients in 1 pint hot water; mix well.
Strain beans.
Put beans into pot.
Pour on flavor mix; add enough water to cover beans.
Add more as needed during baking. Bake at 350° for 2 hours.
Reduce heat to 275°.
Takes 8 or 9 hours.
