Bagels is an easy dinner. Made with 2 packets dry yeast, 4 1/4 to 4 1/2 c. flour, 1 1/2 c. warm water, 3 tbsp. sugar and 1 tbsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

In a large bowl combine yeast and 1 3/4 cups flour, water, sugar and salt.

Beat at low speed 30 seconds, scraping sides of bowl often.

Beat at high speed 3 minutes.

Stir in enough of rest of flour for stiff dough.

Knead 5 to 8 minutes.

Cover and let rest 15 minutes.

Cut into 12 portions, shape and let rest 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, add 1 tablespoon sugar to 1 gallon water and bring to boil.

Cook bagels 7 minutes in simmering water, turning once.

Bake at 375Β° on ungreased pan for 30 to 35 minutes.

Do not use cast-iron pans or sheets, the bagels will stick.
