Baby Tea Loaf
Baby Tea Loaf is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. sugar, 1/3 c. shortening, 2 eggs, 1 (7 1/2 oz.) jar junior squash baby food and 1 1/2 c. sifted flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Cream shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Add squash.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices.
Reserve 1/4 cup flour mixture and work it into dates and nuts.
Add flour mixture to squash mixture.
Stir in dates and nuts into batter.
Turn batter into greased 9 x 5 x 3 1/2-inch pan and bake for 1 hour.
