Aunt Sharon's Chewy Oatmeal Cookies
Chewy oatmeal cookies spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, packed with raisins and brown sugar. Soft-centered, fragrant, and faithful to the family recipe card.

Sift together all dry ingredients except sugar.
Add shortening, sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes.
Stir in oats and raisins.
Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake in preheated oven at 350Β° for 12 to 15 minutes.
Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
