Apricot Bread
Apricot Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 can apricot nectar, 1 1/2 c. chopped dates, 1/3 c. dried apricots, chopped, 1 tbsp. grated orange rind and 2 3/4 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Mix nectar, dates and apricots in saucepan; simmer for 5 minutes.
Add orange rind.
Set aside.
Sift flour, baking soda and salt together; blend in shortening and sugar.
Add this to the hot mixture.
Add egg, cream and nutmeats.
Mix well.
Pour into 2 bread pans that are well greased, until 2/3rds full.
Bake at 350Β° for 50 to 60 minutes.
Slide out of tins immediately after baking and cool.
