Applesauce Donuts
Applesauce Donuts is an impressive dinner. Made with 3 c. all-purpose flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. cream of tartar, 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1/3 c. shortening (may use oil), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

In large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients, except nuts. Beat at medium speed until well blended.
Stir in nuts.
Set in refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
Take out and stir down.
Add additional flour if needed.
Cut with donut cutter and fry in hot grease at 375Β°.
Brown on one side until brown and turn.
(Can drop by teaspoonfuls, if you wish.)
