Apple Slices
Apple Slices is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. flour, 1 tsp. salt, 1 c. lard, 1 egg and milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Put egg yolk in measuring cup.
Fill to 3/4 cup with milk. Blend flour and lard.
Add milk to flour.
Roll out 1/2 of dough and line jelly roll pan or small cookie sheet.
Cover with handful of crushed corn flakes.
Place sliced apples (Courtland's) on crust.
Sprinkle with 1 cup sugar and cinnamon.
Cover with rest of dough.
Whip egg white until frothy and brush on top of crust. Bake at 400Β°.
While hot, glaze with 1 cup powdered sugar and a little water, mixed.
