Apple Pie
Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 (9-inch) pie crusts, 5 to 6 c. peeled, cored and sliced apples, 1/2 to 2/3 c. sugar, 1/8 tsp. salt and 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Preheat oven to 450°.
Line a 9-inch pan with one crust.
In mixing bowl, mix well the apples, sugar, salt, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Place apples in pan.
Dot with butter; sprinkle with lemon.
Top with remaining crust which has been pricked.
Bake at 450° for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to 350°.
Bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until done.
May lightly sprinkle top with sugar and cinnamon before putting in oven.
