Apple Pie
Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. packed brown sugar, 3 tbsp. all-purpose flour, 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1/4 tsp. ground ginger, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

In a small bowl, combine sugars, flour and spices; set aside.
In a large bowl, toss apples with lemon juice.
Add sugar mixture; toss well to coat.
Line a 9-inch pie pan with half the pastry.
Place apple filling into crust; dot with butter.
Roll out remaining pastry to fit top of pie.
Cut a few slits in top of pie.
Beat egg white until foamy; brush over pastry.
Sprinkle sugar on top.
Bake at 375° for 35 minutes.
Increase temperature to 400° and bake 10 to 15 minutes more or until golden.
Yield: 8 servings.
