Apple Dumplings
Apple Dumplings is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 c. butter, 2 c. flour and 2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Make syrup of sugar, water, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Add butter. Pare and core apples (I prefer to also cut them up).
Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
Cut in shortening.
Roll 1/8-inch thick. Cut in circles large enough to hold a small apple.
Place apple on circle.
Fill cavity with mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
Dot with butter.
Sprinkle top with nutmeg.
Bring dough up over apples, pressing edges together.
Place dumplings in pan with joined edges underneath in a greased baking pan.
Allow space between each.
Pour syrup over them.
Bake at 375Β° until tender, about 35 minutes.
