Apple Dumpling
Apple Dumpling is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sugar, 3 c. water, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, 1/4 c. butter and 4 apples, peeled, cored and quartered, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Make syrup of sugar, water and cinnamon.
Add butter.
Sift flour, salt and baking powder; cut in shortening.
Add milk; stir until moistened.
Roll out on floured surface, 1/4-inch thick.
Cut into 5-inch squares.
Place apples in each square; fold corners to center and pinch edges together.
Place in baking dish.
Pour syrup over dumplings.
Bake in a 375Β° oven for 35 minutes.
Serve hot, plain or with ice cream.
