Butter 2-quart baking dish and spread apples.
Mix salt, cinnamon, spice and brown sugar.
Sprinkle over apples.
Add water.
Mix flour, sugar and egg until crumbly and spread over apples.
Pour melted margarine over crumbly topping.
Bake at 350Β° for about 1 hour.
Serve warm or cold with whipped topping or ice cream.
