Dump both cans of pie filling in large buttered casserole dish.
Spread it out in bottom of dish.
Dump dry cake mix on top of pie filling.
Cut butter into 1/4-inch pads, placing evenly on dry mix.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
Add cherries just as butter starts to melt (you can use the juice from the cherries).
