Apple Crisp

Slice the apples into a baking dish. Add sugar to taste and the water.
Mix together.
Combine the 1/2 to 3/4 cup sugar, flour, butter and nuts (if desired) and pour this crumbly mixture over the apples. Bake slowly for at least 1 hour at 300Β°.
