Apple Cake Pie
Apple Cake Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 large apples, cored and thinly sliced, 1 tsp. lemon juice, 3/4 c. sugar, 1/4 c. margarine and 1 egg, beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Place apples in well-greased 10-inch pie pan.
Sprinkle with lemon juice; cover with 1/4 cup sugar.
Cream together margarine and remaining 1/2 cup sugar; add egg and mix.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
Mix with creamed mixture and spread over fruit.
Bake in moderate oven at 350Β° for 45 minutes. Serve hot or cold, with thin custard sauce or whipped cream. Makes 8 servings.
Ice cream is very good with it too.
