Apple Butter
Apple Butter is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 lb. apples, peeled and quartered, 2 c. apple cider, 3 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. cinnamon and 1 tsp. cloves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
In large saucepan, cook apples in cider until tender, stirring occasionally.
When tender, process apples through a sieve or food mill.
Measure 6 cups of pulp into same pot.
Stir in sugar and spices.
Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, to prevent scorching.
Cook about 1 hour or until very thick.
Pour hot into hot, sterilized jars and seal.
For longer storage, process pint jars in boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
