Apple Brown Betty
Apple Brown Betty is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c thinly sliced apples or 1 16 oz can, 1/2 c packed brown sugar, 2 t margarine, 2 c bread crumbs or torn bread pieces and 1/8 t ground cinnamon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Grease 1 qt baking dish.
Arrange half of apples on bottom. Follow with half bread then half sugar.
Repeat layers.
Sprinkle cinnamon on top.
Cut margarine in pieces and lay on top.
Pour hot water over all.
Bake covered at 350 F for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake another 10 minutes.
