Apple-Acorn Squash
Apple-Acorn Squash is an easy dinner. Made with 2 to 3 acorn squash, 2 tbsp. melted butter or margarine, 1/2 c. applesauce, 2 tbsp. butter or margarine and 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Preheat oven to 425Β°.
Cut washed squash in halves, lengthwise.
Remove seeds.
Brush cut surface of each half with melted butter.
Arrange cut side down in shallow pan.
Bake 30 minutes or until tender.
Now scoop squash from shells; reserve 4 shells.
Mash squash; add applesauce, butter and nutmeg.
Lightly heap mixture into shells.
Bake until brown.
Serves 4.
