Aplets
Aplets is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 tbsp. knox gelatine, 1/2 c. cooked applesauce, 3/4 c. applesauce, 2 c. sugar and 1 c. nutmeats, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
Soak gelatine and cooked applesauce for 10 minutes.
Bring 3/4 cup applesauce and 2 cups sugar to a boil.
Add the gelatin mixture to sugar and sauce.
Boil 20 minutes watching carefully. Remove from heat; add nutmeats and vanilla.
Pour into greased 8 x 8-inch or 9 x 9-inch pan; let stand 24 hours.
Cut into squares. Roll in powdered sugar and place on waxed paper to dry.
