Angel Food Pie
Angel Food Pie is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 18 minutes. Made with c. water, c. sugar, . flour, . cornstarch and c. crushed pineapple, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Put water, sugar and pineapple in top of double boiler and bring just to boiling point.
Mix flour and cornstarch and add to pineapple mixture.
Cook until it thickens.
Remove from heat and add vanilla.
When cool, fold in egg whites.
Pour into 2 baked pie shells.
Top with 1/2 pint whipped topping for each pie. Sprinkle with coconut.
Let stand in refrigerator overnight.
