Angel Biscuits
Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 c. self-rising flour, sifted before measuring, 1 c. shortening, 2 pkg. dried yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water, 1/3 c. sugar and 2 c. buttermilk (room temperature), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Sift together flour, sugar and soda. Chop in shortening.
Add buttermilk and yeast. Stir well.
Keep covered in refrigerator at least 1 hour or better.
Will keep 1 week.
Flour hands.
Pinch off enough dough to roll into biscuits.
Place on greased pan and let rise 1 or 2 hours.
Bake in preheated oven at 425Β° for 10 to 15 minutes or until brown.
