Angel Biscuits
Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. (1/4 oz. each) active dry yeast, 1/4 c. warm water, 2 c. warm buttermilk, 5 c. all-purpose flour and 1/3 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Let stand 5 minutes.
Stir in the buttermilk.
Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, soda and salt.
Cut in shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Stir in yeast and buttermilk mixture, mixing well.
