Angel Biscuits
Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 c. flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tbsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt and 4 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Mix together the first 5 ingredients.
Cut shortening into flour mixture.
Dissolve yeast in water and add buttermilk.
Then add buttermilk and yeast mixture to flour mixture.
Mix; knead a few minutes.
Let stand 1 hour in greased bowl.
Punch down and roll out 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick.
Cut and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Cover and let stand while oven preheats to 400Β°.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes.
Store dough in tightly covered container and refrigerate.
Can use up to 2 weeks later.
