In mixer with flat beater, mix first 6 ingredients.

Let yeast mixture proof until foamy.

Add to dry ingredients along with buttermilk.

Mix until well blended and turn out onto well floured board and knead into a nice smooth ball.

Roll out to 1/2-inch and cut with cutter.

Place on well-greased sheet pan.

Allow to rise 3 to 4 hours.

Preheat oven to 400Β°.

Cook until a nice golden brown (approximately 20 minutes).

Wonderful buttered with a slice of Smithfield ham!
