Angel Biscuits
Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 c. plain flour, 3/4 c. crisco, 1 tsp. soda, 1 tsp. salt and 3 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Sift dry ingredients and cut into shortening until well mixed.
Add buttermilk and dissolved yeast mixture.
Mix well.
Roll on floured board and cut as for biscuits.
Bake at 400Β° for about 12 minutes.
Makes about 6 dozen. You may cook small amounts and store unused portions in refrigerator in a covered glass bowl.
Will keep about 2 weeks.
