Pudding according to instructions on box.
Slice cake in half lengthwise.
In 13 x 9-inch pan.
Spread cooled pudding over bottom of cake.
Put top piece of cake on pudding. Top with Cool Whip.
Sprinkle coconut on top of Cool Whip. Can sprinkle chopped of Cool Whip and coconut (optional).
