Anadama Bread
Anadama Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 5 1/2 to 6 1/2 c. flour, 2 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. yellow cornmeal, 2 pkg. yeast and 1/4 c. margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Mix 2 1/2 cups flour, salt, cornmeal and undissolved yeast; add margarine.
Gradually add water and molasses beating 2 minutes at medium speed on electric mixer.
Add 1/2 cup flour or enough to make a thick batter.
Beat a high speed for 2 minutes.
Stir in enough flour to make a soft dough.
Turn out and knead until smooth and elastic (8 to 10 minutes).
Place in greased bowl; cover and let rise until doubled (1 hour).
Punch down; place in greased pans.
Cover and let rise 45 minutes.
Bake at 375Β° for 35 minutes.
