Anadama Bread
Anadama Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. water, 1 tsp. salt, 1/3 c. cornmeal, 1/3 c. molasses and 1 1/2 tbsp. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Bring water and salt to a boil and stir in cornmeal.
Stir in and cool to lukewarm the molasses and shortening.
Mix dough then knead.
Let rise until double in bulk.
Punch down.
Turn into greased loaf pans.
Bake at 375Β° for 45 minutes or until dark brown.
Makes two loaves, the recipe doubles well.
