Amish Coffee Cake
Amish Coffee Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. firmly packed brown sugar, 2 c. flour, 3/4 c. shortening, 1 egg and 2 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Mix the brown sugar and flour.
Cut in shortening until get little beads.
Reserve 1 cup for later.
Stir in egg and vanilla. Stir coffee and soda together; add to egg and flour mixture. Mixture may be a little lumpy.
Pour into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Sprinkle reserved cup of dry mix over batter.
Bake at 350Β° for 20 to 30 minutes.
After removing from oven, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
