Almond Pound Cake
Almond Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter or margarine, 1/2 c. vegetable shortening, 3 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Cream butter, shortening and sugar until very light and fluffy.
Add flavorings.
Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add alternately the measured flour and baking powder with milk, beginning with flour mixture and ending with flour mixture.
Bake in a greased tube pan in a preheated 325° oven for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.
For a sheet cake, bake in a greased 11 x 15-inch pan at 350° for 25 minutes or until cake tests done.
