Southwest Taco Pie
Southwest Taco Pie is an moderately easy Mexican dessert you can prepare in just 42 minutes. Made with deep dish pie crust, . ground chuck, c. chopped onions, . taco seasoning mix and refried beans, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Preheat oven and baking sheet to 400°. Partially bake pie crust for 10 minutes; cool. Reduce oven temperature to 350°. Brown ground chuck and onion in a skillet; drain fat.
Stir in taco seasoning mix and a little bit of water.
Combine refried beans and 1/2 cup taco sauce in a mixing bowl. Layer 1/2 meat mixture in bottom of pie shell, then half of bean mixture. Sprinkle cheese on top. Bake 25 minutes. Remove from oven; cool, then top with lettuce, tomatoes and sauce. Makes 6 servings.
