Scripture Cake
Scripture Cake is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 12 minutes. Made with c. judges 5:25 (last clause, 1/2 c. butter), c. jeremiah 6:20 (2 c. sugar), . 1 samuel 14:25 (2 tbsp. honey), jeremiah 17:11 (6 eggs) and c. 1 kings 4:22 (1 1/2 c. sifted flour), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Beat together until fluffy and light, butter, sugar and honey. Beat egg yolks until light and add to mix.
Add sifted mixture of flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and pinch of salt in alternate portions with milk.
Stir in figs, raisins and almonds.
Fold in 6 egg whites, beaten stiff.
Bake in well-greased 10-inch tube pan 2 hours at 300Β°.
Pan may be first lined with greased brown paper for extra protection in the oven.
