Place popcorn in a large, buttered bowl.
In heavy 2-quart saucepan, stir together syrup, water, brown sugar and vinegar. Stir constantly over medium heat until mixture boils.
Continue cooking, stirring occasionally until temperature on candy thermometer reaches 260Β° or until a small amount of mixture dropped into very cold water forms a ball.
Remove from heat; stir in butter.
Slowly pour over popcorn.
Make balls.
