Bottom Layer
Beat together the butter, sugar, egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla in a bowl.
Add flour, soda, salt and oats; mix well.
Pack into a greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
Set aside.
Beat milk, cream cheese and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla together well.
Reserve 3 tablespoons for icing.
Spread remainder over bottom layer. Sprinkle nuts over top.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 minutes, or until set.
Frost while hot.
