Caramel Popcorn
Caramel Popcorn is an moderately easy snack you can prepare in about 2 hours 14 minutes. Made with c. unpopped popcorn, c. butter or oleo, c. light brown sugar, firmly packed, c. light corn syrup and . salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Pop popcorn in air popper.
Yields 5 to 6 quarts popped corn. Place in large bowl.
Combine butter, sugar, syrup and salt in heavy saucepan.
Heat and stir over medium heat until boiling. Then boil without stirring for 5 minutes.
Remove from heat. Stir vanilla and soda.
Pour over popcorn and toss well until all pieces are coated.
Spread on 2 large ungreased shallow pans.
Bake in 250Β° oven for 1 hour, stirring every minutes.
Cool completely.
Break apart and store in airtight containers.
