Applesauce Cake Squares
Applesauce Cake Squares is an impressive dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 34 minutes. Made with (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate, c. butter or margarine, c. firmly packed brown sugar, c. unsweetened applesauce and eggs, beaten, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Place unsweetened chocolate and butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat; stir until chocolate melts.
Set aside.
Combine sugar, applesauce, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl; mix well. Combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add to applesauce mixture, stirring well.
Stir in chocolate mixture.
Spoon the batter into a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 30 minutes.
Cool completely.
Top with Nutty Coconut Frosting; cut into squares.
