OPERATING GUIDELINES
PURPOSE
The purpose of our Operating Guidelines (OG) is to ensure that each
of the approved Study Abroad programs meet the academic standards required
by Tarleton State University (TSU) and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating
Board and include all safety and responsibility requirements established
by Tarleton State University and NAFSA, Association of International
Educators.
Accordingly, the intent is to protect both students and faculty engaged
in such programs, to require that TSU students are informed of safety
issues, to confirm that the University operates responsibly in the oversight
of TSU study abroad programs, and to ensure that TSU students receive
cross-cultural information to assist them in successfully meeting the
challenges of studying in a foreign environment.
These procedures further serve to affirm that all aspects of linkages
made by TSU faculty and administrators between TSU and foreign institutions
are approved by the university and, if written through a memorandum
of agreement, are coordinated in such a way that they can be successfully
implemented in accordance with rules and regulations of TSU.
