TSU Study Abroad Application
ACCEPTANCE
Fill out the Study Abroad Program Application and submit it and
the following documents to the Office of International Academic
Programs. All applications for study abroad are submitted to review.
It is essential that all the appropriate documents are submitted
by the specified deadline to ensure review is completed before
specific, individual program deadlines are in effect.
Acceptance to a study abroad program is based on
this review, fulfillment of GPA and academic requirements and
approval by the academic Advisor and the foreign university or
program.
This application is required for all TSU Reciprocal
Exchange programs and for all TSU Affiliated
Programs. If you are unsure as to the designation of the program
you have selected, please contact the International Office at
968 - 9632.
A Complete Application Consists of the Following:
Completed Two-Page Application with appropriate signatures.
Statement of Purpose: In a short essay (about 500 words), introduce
yourself and present your reasons for wanting to study abroad
through this exchange. Use the essay to describe your strengths
and special interests that may not be evident in other materials
you have submitted. Explain why you are a strong candidate for
the exchange program. Refer to such items as educational achievements,
intellectual and personal interests, and career goals.
Letter of Recommendation:
One letter of recommendation must be submitted to the Office of
International Academic Programs with the accompanying reference
form provided in the application. Referees should preferably be
TSU faculty.
Language Proficiency Report (if required):
If the language of instruction for the program you are planning
to attend is not English or you intend to take language courses
above the beginning level you must submit the Language Proficiency
Report included with the application. Course List: Please attach
a list of courses you would like to take during your exchange
and indicate whether you would take these courses on a graduate
or undergraduate level. (List alternates as well.)
Official Transcripts:
You should request official transcripts from the registrar of
each college or university you have attended. These transcripts
should be sent to the address at the end of this form.
