TSU Affiliated Programs - Study Abroad Italy
Study Abroad Italy facilitates study abroad enrollment
for American students who wish to attend their partner sites in
Italy. Program offerings vary but coursework in English is available
at all sites.
All Study Abroad Italy Programs require that students
be accepted for study abroad at TSU before submitting program-specific
applications.
John Cabot University: Located in Rome, Italy. Coursework
in business, art history, studio art, classical studies, computer
science, economics, English composition, English literature, history,
Italian language, mathematics, natural science, philosophy, political
science, psychology, religion and theater.
Lorenzo De'Medici The Art Institute of Florence:
Located in Florence, Italy. Coursework in art history, business,
classical studies, communication studies, architectural history,
geography, Italian language, literature, performing arts, philosophy,
political science, sociology and women's studies. Studio Art coursework
in ceramics, communications, fashion design, graphic arts, interior
design, jewelry, mixed media, painting and drawing, printmaking,
restoration, sculpture and textiles.
Umbra Institute: Located in Perugia, Italy. Coursework
available in archaeology, art history, business and economics,
classical studies, dance, history, Italian language, Italian literature,
literature, music, philosophy, political science, studio art,
theater and media studies. Courses offered in English and Italian.

concerning requirements for TSU study abroad.
ELIGIBILITY: Students going through TSU must
have a 2.5 GPA for admission. Some locations require more advanced
language training whereas others do not. Please carefully read
the admission requirements for the program you choose.
APPLICATION: Students must apply and be admitted
for study abroad before submitting applications for the affiliated

REGISTRATION: Students are placed in Affiliated
Study Abroad hours at TSU (amount determined by full-time status
requirements). Registration for specific courses offered on the
program is conducted through Study Abroad Italy.
FEES AND TUITION: All fees and tuition are
paid to the Affiliated Program. Students need to arrange their
own insurance and flights. Arrangements for housing are made by
the program but students are responsible for payments while in
Italy. Check the program listings on the Study Abroad Italy
website for up-to-date costs. No tuition is charged or paid at
TSU.
FINANCIAL AID: Students remain eligible for
most TSU financial aid and scholarships as well as the International
Study Abroad Fee Scholarship. For more information, see your financial

CREDIT: Credit is evaluated for TSU course
equivalencies before being posted on the students record.
The Study Abroad Office cannot guarantee that the credit will
transfer back or that it will count towards a degree. Students
are encouraged to follow study abroad advisement procedures to
assist in the return of credit for affiliated programs. For

TSU students must first apply for Affiliated programs
through the Study Abroad Office. Applications are reviewed to
assess academic suitability, preparation, and maturity. Applications
for specific study programs are available in the Study Abroad
Office.
